RIP Immanuel Wallerstein, one of the great intellectuals of our era, a social theorist who lived a deep commitment to justice, a warm human being who kept hope alive despite gloomy odds, and a good friend.

Immanuel Wallerstein, "a giant of the critical social sciences" has died. His final commentary from July 1: “This is the end; this is the beginning““I have indicated in the past that I thought the crucial struggle was a class struggle, using class in a very broadly defined sense"
Wallerstein has been the author who I made my students read the most. A gigantic intellectual figure disappears. It has left us the world-system analysis, one of the most valuable perspectives of analysis of capitalism to imagine its transformation. Farewell, Mr. Wallerstein. pic.twitter.com/GJlfKKx4A1
